Overview

Unusual picture on a couched background of concentric circles constructed of painted paper cord couched down with cotton. The embroidered design of hanging wisteria flowers leaves and tendrils is badly faded.
Removal from the frame revealed that the work is done on a patched flour ba printed with Chinese or Japanese symbols and the word 'flour' as well as a 'Dolly Varden' type figure.
