BATELIER SKETCH OF SS CENTURY {CARGO SHIP} AT DEEPWATER JETTY, ALBANY
1906Pencil sketch of the of the Howard smith collier, SS CENTURY, Capt. Leslie Woodams, berthed starboard side to on the East side of the Albany Deepwater Jetty. Sketch shows the ship's plating strakes in detail but not individual plates. Rigging, masts, funnel & superstructure is shown in detail. The piles on the east side of the jetty are shown in detail, but the west side of the jetty is only roughly lined in. It shows the curved plan of the Deepwater Jetty. A smaller boat, possibly a steam launch, is at anchor off the port side of the ship. The far shore of the PR. Harbour is outlined in relief and shading. The harbour surface is 'greyed in' with pencil and labelled in pencil as, 'pretty rough'.
