BATELIER WATERCOLOUR OF SS SUEVIC {CARGO LINER}
1907Watercolour preparation sketch - black, white & grey - of the SS SUEVIC of the White Star Line. Sketch shows the ship stranded in the English Channel, off Lizard Head, under the lighthouse, where she was run aground on the night of Sunday 17 March 1907. The ship was cut in half to simplify re-floating. The sketch shows the aft half being towed off, the lines leading to the tugs which are not shown.
