About This Collection

The Albany Historical Society has an extensive collection of pencil sketches, commercial artworks, printing plates, photographic prints, postcards, and other printed ephemera relating to the Batelier Brothers' time as commercial artists in Albany.
This collection contains examples of the work of both Claude and Victor Batelier from 1904 through to the late 1930s.
These examples of their work reflect their efforts to represent Albany's early life as a working port over thirty-five years, from 1904 to the beginning of WWII.
