PHOTOGRAPH: SUBIACO VOLUNTARY AID DIVISION
The black and white photograph shows a group of women of the Subiaco VAD arranged in three rows, the front row seated, in front of the wall of a building. They are all in nursing uniform as in 1985.128 with different caps. These are shaped to the head with an extra length like a scarf, falling down the back. Sister Van Dahl, who instructed the division in simple nursing procedures (taking temperatures, pulse and respirations, giving injections, urine testing, sponging and bed-making), sits in the centre of the front row wearing a white sister's uniform.
