Above the car on the front of the opener is "PAT NOV 7 1911".
On the reverse side of the opener is stamped "HAROLD V. PIESSE & CO." and beneath this in smaller lettering "KATANNING LAND & COMM. AGENTS DODGE MOTOR CARS MASSEY HARRIS MACHINERY QUEENSLAND FIRE INS."

The bottle opener may have been a commercial gift from the business. Harold Vivian Piesse was operating his business in Katanning c1940.
