Inscriptions and markings

Above the car on the front of the opener is "PAT NO", the remaining inscription is not legible.

On the reverse side of the opener is stamped "HAROLD PIESSE & CO." and beneath this in smaller lettering "LAND & COMM. AGENTS REP A.M.P. SOCIETY AND DODGE CARS ETC. KATANNING."

Contextual information

The bottle opener may have been a commercial gift from the business. Harold Vivian Piesse was operating his business in Katanning c1940.
