Historical information

The logbook is from the SS Cheynes, the Cheynes Beach Whaling Station's first steam powered whale chaser. Pages are filled in by First Mate A. Gordon Cruickshank and signed by Captain Axel H. Christensen. The logbook gives an account of the working of the vessel and crew from 10/04/1958 to 17/12/1958, including whale sightings and whales caught.
