Overview

Tiny French souvenir booklet advertising a cocoa product and divided into the months of the year with names beside each day of the year. The print inside is in a sepia tone colour. There is a picture of a woman and a child seated at a table eating/drinking on the front cover and on the back a picture of a decorated shelf on which are sitting two tins of the product.

Historical information

Part of an extensive collection of postcards received by Vera VERGE from her sweetheart Private Edward Charles MOUCHEMORE 6351 who served with the 28th Battalion during the First World War. They met in Albany while attending the same school. Edward was killed in action at Bullecourt, France on 3 October 1918 at the age of 22. The collection was kept by Vera throughout her life and donated to the Princess Royal Fortress by a family member in 2019.
