Historical information

After attending Claremont Teachers College, George Tuffin taught primary school students. George's last posting was as the headmaster of Armadale Primary School in 1971.

Claremont Teachers College built of Cottesloe Limestone, was completed in 1901. In 1902, first students and staff, thirty nine in all, were enrolled. The building, on 12 acres bounded by Goldsworthy Road, Princess Road, Agett Road and Bay Road, Claremont, overlooked Freshwater Bay. The kookaburra, swan and zanthorrea were incorporated in the original design for college's crest. The college was established to train teachers in Western Australia. Previously students had to travel to South Australia for teacher training.

Taken by Roy Grace between 1927-1928 when a student at Claremont Teachers College. Roy was one of the photographers for The WA Trainee magazine. After attending Claremont Teachers College, Roy became a high school science teacher. Roy's last posting was as the Deputy Principal of Churchlands Senior High School in 1972.
