Weaning Harness for Calf
A brown leather harness which holds a curved leather piece which has seven long nails protruding. The length of the nail spikes are 8.5 cm long.
This harness was placed around a calf's neck with the nails facing upwards on the back of the calf's neck. When the calf attempted to suckle from the cow, the cow would get prodded with the nails and kick the calf away. It was used to wean the calf from the cow when there were no yards or fences to separate cows from calves.
