A silver gelatine photographic print of HMAS AUSTRALIA taken by “Imperial War Museum Photography” framed in teak salvaged from the ships deck with a silver plaque that is inscribed and secured to the frame with four silver screws.

Historical information

"The Commonwealth Government... is seeing that all parts of Australia shall have a permanent souvenir of the vessel... arrangements had been made for a photograph of the ship framed in teak from her deck, to be supplied to each municipality. The souvenir is a handsome one, and bears a silver plate, on which the inscription "HMAS AUSTRALIA First Flagship of the Royal Australian Navy, 1913-1920.
