'90 Brave Years' – Braves Baseball Club 90th Anniversary book
2026This is a selection of pages from the 212-page, A4 size, bound book published to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Braves Baseball Club. The book has dark blue front and back covers of medium thickness card. The front cover displays a faint diamond shape in the background with the number '90' outlined in yellow and white, and the word 'Years' printed in white on a dark blue, furled ribbon banner. Below is the Braves Baseball Club logo. The back cover has a black and white photograph of the Braves 2023/24 State League championship team. The inside pages are printed on coated white paper with black print and numerous black and white and colour photographs.
This historical book was produced for the 90th-year anniversary celebrations of the Braves Baseball Club. Established in 1936, and originally named the Fremantle Baseball Club, the club has evolved through numerous name changes over the past 90 years.
In its entirety the book covers the years 1936‒2026. The first section of the publication includes a reproduction of a book titled '55 Brave Years 1936‒1991', which was compiled by Margaret Carter for the club's 55th anniversary. The remainder of the publication is titled 'A Brave Legacy – 1992‒2026' and was compiled by Patricia Dowsett.
Included in the book are histories of individual past and present players, baseball families, club traditions, award winners, and club office bearers.

This book was passed to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by the BWA CEO Lachlan Dale. It is an important historical record of one of the inaugural Western Australian baseball clubs established in 1936 and a valuable addition to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives collection. These images of selected pages from the book were provided by and reproduced here with the permission of the author Patricia Dowsett of the Braves Baseball Club.
The publication has historical and social significance as a record of one of the original Western Australian baseball clubs established in 1936. It is a valuable source of information for researching the history and heritage of Western Australian baseball.
