Australian Navy jacket, uniform worn by Mr. Ray Edwards between 1951-1957.
Navy blue wool, exhibits Navy service chevron - which denotes four years of service, anchor symbol at shoulder - denotes leading seaman, six pointed star on sleeve with letters 'O.C.' - denotes officer's cook.
Six buttons across front with Navy insignia; crown over anchor and Australia.

Statement of significance

The objects being offered for donation do not hold a direct historical link to the town as Mr. Edwards moved to Toodyay in 1989. Despite this it is considered these items would have social significance given Toodyay's strong Returned and Services League community.
