“AGE SHALL NOT WEARY THEM” book by R.G. Roberts 1st Edition written in 1943 is the story of HMAS Perth I during her Australian chapter 1939-1942. Inside the front cover are the signatures of 32 crewmen from various vessels of the Royal Australian Navy including the sole surviving crew member of the submarine AE2. R.G. Roberts served on HMAS Perth as Yeoman of Signals. His signature is on the title page.

Contextual Information

Originally named HMS Amphion the Leander Class cruiser was launched in Portsmouth, England in 1934. She was purchased in 1939 by the Australian Government for the Royal Australian Navy and consequently renamed HMAS Perth. She was sunk by the Japanese during the Battle of Sunda Strait in 1942 with 347 naval personnel losing their lives.
