MEDAL: CITY OF SUBIACO ANNIVERSARY
1977This medal commemorates two events: The proclamation of Subiaco as a municipality in 1897; and The attainment of city status in 1952. The words 'Anniversary Medal' appear above the 'kissing ducks' crest and 'March 1952-1977' below the shield. On the other side the words 'Anniversary Medal' again appear above the old crest of Subiaco Municipality and the dates 'March 1897-1977' below the shield. The shields both feature a trowel and T-square, ship, olive grove and tents. On the 20th April 1984 Subiaco was granted its new armorial bearings which differ totally from those depicted on the anniversary medal. A yellow and a maroon ribbon are passed through a loop at the apex of the medal and held together by a safety pin. See also 97_27
