POSTCARD: SUBIACO FALLEN SOILDERS WAR MEMORIAL - UNVEILING
1923Sepia postcard featuring a photograph of the Subiaco War Memorial on the day it was unveiled (25 November 1923). The inscription handwritten in ink on the reverse of the postcard reads: 'Looking along the tramline on unveiling day.' Rokeby Road is shown with the tramlines at its centre and cars parked beside the kerbs. The Memorial is surrounded by a crowd of people who are blocking Rokeby Road. Two Norfolk Pines in Rankin Gardens are visible on the right, as well as a pointed roof which was probably that of the bandstand.
