Ann Watson (1836-1915) (nee Arnold) was the wife of Police Constable Joseph Watson. He owned farm land at Strawberry in what is now the Shire of Irwin.

This letter provides an indicator of the extent of the region to whom Maley provided flour. The increasing number of farmers settling in the Irwin District probably encouraged Maley to build a flour mill at Dongara in 1866/67.
Of the many variations on the spelling of Maley's name, this writer has the most elaborate.
