John Gosnell's & Co. Trademark label
c. 1890The Label includes the information about John Gosnell and Co. as the registered trademark under the Registration Act 1875. The rectangle label is printed in red, black and white colours. The label states THE TRADE MARK IS ATTACHED TO EVERY ARTICLE MANUFACTURED BY JOHN GOSNELL AND CO., LTD. in four different languages: English, German, French and Spanish. Label also mentions LATE PRICE AND GOSNELL which indicates that it likely comes from a time after the company was listed as J. Gosnell and Co., wholesale Perfumers and Flowers Distillers. The phrase at the bottom of label states, THE LABEL IS UNDER THE TRADE MARK REGISTRATION ACT, 1875. The year 1876 is highlighted at the top of the label which might show the year this specific trademark was registered. At the top centre of the label there is a bull's head that appears on many labels made by John Gosnell and Co. This same bull's head is also part of the Coat of Arms for the City of Gosnells, WA.
