Carnation, Gosnell's Blossom Series label
c. 1910This is a curved paper label with an adhesive backing. The art style of this label withfloral illustration with decorative borders and elegant script, suggests late Edwardian to early Art Deco influence, likely c1910s-1930. The use of rich colours and stylised flower forms fits well with commercial art trends of that era, aimed at evoking nature and luxury. This label features a blue background and an illustration of carnations in white, yellow red and pink. There is an arched text box on the top of label says, GOSNELL S BLOSSOM SERIES. The main title of the perfume is 'Carnation' in decorative script. The bottom of the label bears the name of the company, JOHN GOSNELL AND Co. Ltd. LONDON.
