Overview

Thin square metal cigarette case, moulded shape to fit pockets, Half circle button clasp at front edge, long hinge on rear edge. The tin is lipped on the inside creating a thin cavity on either side. The top has two small protrusions/hooks into the cavity on either side. Very dented/bowed, scratched, scuffed, stained and slightly tarnished. Inside are two cigarette cards. One with a lady, one with a mans picture both in colour. One is slightly dog-eared. The name 'Jim' is hand-written in pencil boldly on the side of one.

Historical information

Within this cigarette case are 2 cigarette cards 1 x Moth eaten 1 in good condition.
The cigarette cards were part of a set titled Time and Money issued in 1938 by W.D.& H.O Wills Bristol & London Imperial Tobacco Co. Ltd. The complete set comprises 50 cards, the backs of the cards providing information relating to the picture on the front.
2001.178: There are 28 more cards in the same set in the museum collection.
