Correspondence Box

Overview

A rectangular shaped box with a hinged lid, the lid has two 0.7cm slots with circular ends and a knob in the centre There is felt on the base of the box. Inside box are two compartments separated by a wooden divider. There is a star shaped lock on the front of the box.

Historical information

The Interior: Contains a wooden divider separating incoming mail that needs attention from outgoing or finished correspondence. The wooden knob has been screwed to the lid from the inside.
