BOY'S CHAMPIONSHIP (GROSS) (HAROLD INGRAM TROPHY)

The Harold Ingram Trophy recognises the Boy's Junior Club Champion.

Winners of this event are recorded on a trophy and an honour board which is one of the eight honour boards that acknowledge the club's founders. (Refer to Item: Major Club Events Honour Board 2021.233)

During the event's history there have been two trophies recognising the winners; Trophy 2 and Trophy 1 as described below. The older Trophy 1 is in poor condition with one of the handles not secured to the cup.

The current trophy (Trophy 2 in the attachments) is titled:

The trophy has gold shields bearing the winners' names for the period 1994 onwards.

Winners of this event for the period 1972 to 2002 are inscribed on another trophy (Trophy 1 in the attachments) titled:

Perpetual Trophy

The winners' names are engraved directly into this trophy.

The names for the period 1994 to 2002 appear on both trophies. This earlier trophy shows its age. The silver plating is severely tarnished and the handle on one side of the cup has become detached.

The event was first conducted in 1972. There have been four honour boards used to recognise the Boy's Junior Club Champion during its history:

1. The Harold Ingram Trophy honour board (2007- ) located in the clubhouse foyer

2. The Junior Honour Board (2003- ) located in the hallway entrance to the administration offices

3. An historical board (1972-1996) mounted in the hallway to the entrance to the administration offices

4. An historical board (1997-2001) located in the office storeroom The winner for the year 2002 does not appear on any honour board but is recognised in the club's Annual Report.
