MEN'S LONG MARKERS CHAMPIONSHIP (NETT) (MURRAY DAY TROPHY)

1976
Overview

The Murray Day Trophy recognises the Men's Long Markers Champion.
A long marker is a golfer with a handicap of 19 or greater.
This event is complementary to the gross and nett Men's Championships, offering opportunities for three grades of golfers to win a club championship event.
This honour board is one of the eight honour boards that acknowledge the club's founders. (Refer to Item: Major Club Events Honour Board 2021.233)
The event was first conducted in 1976. There have been two honour boards used to recognise the Long Markers Champion during its history:
1. The current honour board (2009- ) located in the clubhouse foyer
2. A historical board (1976-2008) mounted in the hallway to the entrance to the administration offices
Although the honour board is titled as a "trophy" there is no actual trophy and just the honour board recognises the event's winners.
