Margaret Joyce (Joy) Clinch (1924-2017) grew up at Greenough, the daughter of Frederick Gladstone Clinch and Caroline Adlam Clinch (nee Wilson). She joined the Australian Women's Army Service in June 1942, but was discharged after marrying an USA sailor. Joy moved with her husband to the USA in 1946, but later returned to live at Greenough.
