Australian Baseball Championships plaque - Claxton Shield 1981

Overview

Australian Baseball Championships plaque which commemorates the 1981 Claxton Shield competition. The copper-coloured metal plaque is mounted on a rectangular wooden base. The design in the middle of the plaque is a large blue circle with a yellow outer border. Inside the circle is a map of Australia, coloured yellow, with the Southern Cross star constellation and a large baseball (all coloured white) above the map. Sweeping down from either side of the baseball are two white arcs which meet at a red dot on the map, indicating the location of the championships in Adelaide, South Australia. The edges of the stars, arcs, baseball and its stitching are gold-coloured. At the top left-hand corner of the plaque is the logo of AGC (Australian Guarantee Corporation Limited).
