Historical information

The writer of this note, Thomas Craine (c1835-1907) was a married farmer convicted of sheep stealing and sentenced to 10 years. He arrived in WA in 1862 on the Norwood (convict no. 6265). Craine worked as a mason in the Champion Bay region.
David Baird (1823-?) was a mason convicted of housebreaking and sent to WA in 1858 on the Lord Raglan (convict no. 4914).
