Edward William Vine Gribble was born in Ballarat. He married Martha Emma Brown
in Victoria in 1888. The couple had two daughters Eva Mary Alice and Ruth Thompson
Gribble was a Town Clerk in Boulder for over 20 years before becomming the Town Clerk and Engineer for Claremont in 1922 to 1924. Gribble lived at 32 Reserve Street, Claremont.
Mr Gribble was a foundation member and chairman for many years of the Boulder Liedertafel, and a founder of the Boulder Bowling Club. Gribble was keenIy interested in all sport, and during his short residence in Claremont was an active and enthusiastic member of the local bowling club.
