Campbell Alexander Hendry was born in South Australia. He studied accountancy & became a chartered accountant. He took an interest in education & public affairs. A stained glass window commemorates him at Scotch College in the college chapel, and a Junior School Building was named Hendry House. He was also recognised by PLC. He endowed valuable books to the university, schools & private libraries.
Campbell served in the First World War and was a Claremont Councillor from 1924 - 1927.
