HARDY, HENRY T. CR.

Henry Thomas Hardy was born near Melbourne in 1863 and trained as a surveyor. He passed the NSW Surveyors examination in 1886. Hardy came to Western Australia in 1891 and became a partner in Crossland & Co who were licensed surveyors and valuators.
Hardy married Grace Lavinia Elsegood at Christ Church, Claremont in 1903. The couple had daughters Mary Gwendoline (b.1904) and Kathleen Grace (b1906). The family lived in a house at the South West end of Bay View Terrace called The Gables but eventually returned to Victoria.
Hardy was a councillor for Claremont from 1904-1911.
