B/W prints. (a) Four people are sitting on a lounge and seven standing behind, all in fancy dress. One man is wearing a sailor's suit, two are in Pierrot costumes and four are in dark suits, white shirts with wing collars and ties, and odd hats. The three women are also in fancy dress. On the right on a shelf is a clock and small statue. (b) Four women all in fancy dress and hats are sitting on a lounge with eight others, men and women, also in fancy dress standing behind.Woman on left in middle row is Jo Sharkey. (c ) Four women in costume. On the left is one in nurse's outfit with apron and cap tied under her chin, one with painted moustache is in dark jacket and straw boater, one in dark skirt, collar and tie and cardigan and the fourth is in dark trousers and jacket, light shirt and light hat with dark band. She also has a moustache painted on and has a pipe in her mouth. Written in the album in pencil is [ A Hasluck ? Mrs Sanders].

Historical information

Edith Josephine (Jo), born in Claremont (1902 - 1958), was the edest daughter of Raymond and Edith Florence Sharkey. Taught at PLC and St Mary's and studied languages at the Sorbonne in France. She lived and worked in the UK as a teacher.
