PHOTOGRAPH: PEOPLE IN A MOTOR VEHICLE
c. 1920 - 1929Black and white photograph of a motor vehicle full of people. A woman in a light colour dress and hat is sitting in the driver's seat. The vehicle is box shaped, with rounded wheel arches and a side step (1920s/1930s Ford?).
Trees and bushes can be seen behind the vehicle, as well as the rooves of buildings in the background.
When photographs donated to Museum subject was unknown. When published Mr Ron Milbourne phoned to say he thought the man (far left) may be Phil Matson, coach of East Perth for 5 years. Phil Matson died in a motor accident in 1928 in Nedlands aged 43. East Perth won 5 successive premierships. Mr Milbourne's information came from a book 'The Footballers - A History of Football in WA' (WA Newspapers) P Matson - 'Prince of Coaches'.
