PHOTOGRAPH: MOTHER WITH CHILDREN
c. 1920 - 1929Black and white photograph of a mother with a baby and small child. The woman is wearing a hat and is seated holding the baby, and the small child is positioned beside her.The baby is dressed in woolen clothing and has a dummy in their mouth, and the small girl is wearing a light coloured hat with a pom pom. The subjects appeared to be in a garden, with grass and a picket fence in the background of the image.
When photographs donated to Museum subject was unknown. When published Mr Ron Milbourne phoned to say he thought the man (far left) may be Phil Matson, coach of East Perth for 5 years. Phil Matson died in a motor accident in 1928 in Nedlands aged 43. East Perth won 5 successive premierships. Mr Milbourne's information came from a book 'The Footballers - A History of Football in WA' (WA Newspapers) P Matson - 'Prince of Coaches'.
