c. 1920 - 1929Black and white photograph of a group of eight people sitting together outside. The five women are dressed in light coloured dresses and hats, and the men are dressed in dark coloured suits and hats. The two men on the left are crouching whilst the man in the right is sitting with his elbows over his knees. Buildings, trees and a number of other people can be seen in the background.
When photographs donated to Museum subject was unknown. When published Mr Ron Milbourne phoned to say he thought the man (far left) may be Phil Matson, coach of East Perth for 5 years. Phil Matson died in a motor accident in 1928 in Nedlands aged 43. East Perth won 5 successive premierships. Mr Milbourne's information came from a book 'The Footballers - A History of Football in WA' (WA Newspapers) P Matson - 'Prince of Coaches'.
