PHOTOGRAPH (COPY): PORTRAIT OF A SOLDIER IN UNIFORM, CIRCA 1914
c. 1914Black and white copy of a portrait of a soldier, circa 1914. The young man is dressed in full Australian Army uniform and has his arms folded. The Rising Sun badge can be seen on soldier's collar and cap. The original image appears to have been damaged, with a crack in the picture extending across the subject's head.
The original large photographs were found in the loft of a house in Subiaco that used to be a photographic studio. Attempts were made to identify the photographer and subjects without success. Perhaps the photos were never collected by the subjects. Uniforms are 1914, so probable that rest of photographs of this era. All copy photographs show bad condition of original, marks, edges missing.
