PHOTOGRAPH: FOUR MEN IN A MOTOR VEHICLE
c. 1920 - 1929Black and photograph of four young men sitting in a motor vehicle. The subjects are dressed in suits and hats. The man sitting in the front passenger seat has him arm rested on the window sill.
The vehicle is box shaped, with rounded wheel arches and a side step (Late 1920s/1930s Ford?). Bushland can be seen in the background.
When photographs donated to Museum subject was unknown. When published Mr Ron Milbourne phoned to say he thought the man (far left) may be Phil Matson, coach of East Perth for 5 years. Phil Matson died in a motor accident in 1928 in Nedlands aged 43. East Perth won 5 successive premierships. Mr Milbourne's information came from a book 'The Footballers - A History of Football in WA' (WA Newspapers) P Matson - 'Prince of Coaches'.
