PHOTOGRAPH (COPY): PORTRAIT OF A SOLDIER IN UNIFORM, CIRCA 1914
c. 1914Black and white copy of a portrait of a soldier, circa 1914. The young man is dressed in full Australian Army uniform and has a faint moustache. Two Rising Sun badges can be seen on the collar. The original photograph of which the copy was made appears to have suffered some damage to the right side. The background of the original photograph is visible to the right of the image.
The original large photographs were found in the loft of a house in Subiaco that used to be a photographic studio. Attempts were made to identify the photographer and subjects without success. Perhaps the photos were never collected by the subjects. Uniforms are 1914, so probable that rest of photographs of this era. All copy photographs show bad condition of original, marks, edges missing.
