Bandage that was used by the Armadale Women's Emergency Corps (AWEC). One of the skills that members of the Corps. trained in was first aid and members were issued with first aid kits. The AWEC was formed and run by Constable Roy Fletcher, local police man and 10th Light Horse veteran. The Corps consisted of around 40 local girls including Sylvia Bailey (later Anderson). The Corps. was trained in first aid, stretcher bearing, did marching drills and was instructed in rifle shooting.

This collection of objects is associated with the Armadale Women's Emgergency Corps (AWEC) which was a volunteer organisation formed as part of a local defense and support system in the Armadale Kelmscott Road Board during World War Two. The Corps was created and run by Constable Roy Fletcher of the Armadale Police Station and was made up of local single women from the district.
