Historical information

Between 1957 and 1960 Pearce Harrison was the Commodore of the Lake Jandakot Sailing Club. The club started in 1957 and ran for several years. The original Bedfordale Primary school building was transported to the shores of Lake Jandakot (later renamed Forrestdale Lake) to act as the club house.
The clubs sailing season attracted many metropolitan sailors including Rolly Tasker who used to train for the Flying dutchman Class in the Olympics. A reduction in the water level and severe damage to the club house saw the sailing club fold in the early 1960s
