Overview

A card containing a 2008 special edition silver one dollar coin. The front of the card is of a kangaroo holding a football. The background consists of a stump, two clouds, a tree and a house. On the lower section on the front of the card is a curved dark blue band that has [ROYAL AUSTRALIAN MINT] and the signature of the artist [Reg Mombassa] on the left and right hand sides, respectively.

Running along the left edge of the card is a the same dark blue band that reads [2008 AUSTRALIAN ARTIST SERIES] in white text.

On the reverse side is a stump and greenery similiar to the front. Information on the artwork, coin, a circle to show the reverse of the coin, and barcode on the bottom right hand side.The text reads of the left side reads [One Dollar Kangaroo / Frosted Uncirculated Coin / Renowned Australian Reg Mombassa, artist, / designer and entertainer, was commissioned / to produce this great Australian design. The 2008 / Kangaroo coin is the second of a three part series / featuring designs by talented Australians.] This is followed undernearth with the copyright symbol and [Artwork by Reg Mombassa].

On the right side is information on the coin that reads: [Nominal Specifications / Denomination $1 / Metal Cupro Nickel / Mass 27.22 g / Diameter 38.74 mm / Finish Frosted Uncirculated].

On the bottom section of the card is a dark blue band with [ROYAL AUSTRALIAN MINT] and [www.ramint/gov.au] in white text and a barcode on the far right side.

Information card related to its related coins. Minted by the Perth Mint as part of the Australian Artists Series of coins to celebrate Australian artists. The artist, Reg Mombassa, was born in New Zealand before moving to Australia where he gained success as an artist and musician.

The coin was presented as part of a framed certificate of appreciation to the City of Armadale for its support of the Armadale Industry and Commerce Awards in 2008.
