These special needles are used for coarsely sewing mats or other thickly-woven firm materials, they can also be used for tapestry weaving. Unlike regular sewing needles, they have blunt tips to prevent splitting yarn plies and large eyes to accommodate thicker yarns or multiple strands, making threading easier and smoother during weaving projects
