Mazzega's was a local timber and hardwear store. On Saturday 9 December 1989 they opened a large store on the corner of Gillam Drive and Third Avenue Kelmscott. The store was very popular and one of the main locations tradespeopele and people looking for materials for home DYI projects visited through the 1990s and early 2000s. On 7 December 2012 the Bunnings Group opened a new store on the corner of Armadale Road and Lake Road going into direct competition with Mazzega's. In 2012 Woolworths opened a Masters Home Imporvement Store near Bunnings on Ranford Road. Despite Masters folding in 2016 the competion for Mazzega's was too much and in c2016 the business closed the hardwear store, moved to a new location a bit down the road and re-opened as a landscaping supply business.
