PHOTOGRAPH: DOYLE COURT AND ROKEBY ROAD, SUBIACO
c. 1915The photograph gives a view of Rokeby Road looking north from Bagot Road. There is a large two storey building in the left foreground with shops, with the words 'J. Cadman' on the upper level. There are also advertising signs for 'Bennett and Burnside Cash Grocers' (first listed in Rokeby Rd in 1910 PO directory) and a Tea Room. The building has a wide open verandah on two sides at ground level and an upper balcony with arches under an elaborate roof. Other shops are shown further down the road. In front of the building is a horse and cart with pedestrians walking past. More pedestrians are crossing the street. Further down the picture is a tram travelling north and two motor cars travelling south. The building is known as 'Doyle Court'.
