PHOTOGRAPH: SLAB-MAKING FACTORY, SUBIACO - MARKET SQUARE
c. 1938The photograph shows the slab-making factory which was established by the Subiaco Council in 1935 and functioned until 1965. The plant formed part of the Axon Street depot located on the eastern most area of Market Square. Details are attached and in Reference File. It shows a number of workmen involved in various aspects of slab making in a large open shed with corrugated iron roof.
