APPLIQUE, HAND TOWEL
c. 1940A fine example of hand applique worked by a home embroiderer in England during the early to mid 20th C.
The design on lemon coloured linen consists of 2 passion flowers in mauve leaves in pale green applique and embroidered tendrils. Beautiful scalloped edges satin stiched in yellow. General embroidery has been added to enhance the applique.
