The black and white image shows the shop situated on the corner of Hay and Thomas Streets, where the liquor store is now. The view of Thomas Street hill is in the background. There is a horse and cart standing to the left of the shop on the corner with two men wearing long white aprons standing next to it. Written on the side of the cart: 'Fry's Pure Cocoa' - may be Tighe's cart (see P.85-150). A man stands in the doorway along with crates, one reading 'Seppelt's Vinegar'. Brooms are attached to the wall. There is another horse and cart to the right loaded with crates parked facing downhill on Hay Street. Another man wearing an apron is in the process of unloading crates. Advertising displayed on the shop as follows: The --- Terrier Brand Bunbury Beer and Stout. W.G. Marriott Family Grocer W.G. Marriott; Paouchung Tea; Hardy's Famous Adelaide Wines; Brewery Bottled Ale and Stout; Cadbury Cocoa. The Society holds original postcard.see 98.12
