c. 1975The black and white image shows the liquor store on the corner of Rokeby and Barker Roads, Tighe's Buildings, AD 1905. The photograph was taken facing upwards towards the roof of the building. The top of the verandah and upper floor of the building are featured. There is decorative cement work around the roof, a TV antenna attached to the chimney, with an electric light pole and cable to the right of the photograph. There are the top of two heads in the very foreground of the image. There is clear detail of advertising as follows: Since 1884 the preference is for Penfolds; Chez Mere maternity makers for baby matters - opposite. Swan Lager; Houghton's Blue Stripe Wines; Penfolds Chalet Cold Duck; Subiaco Liquor Service - hrs 9 am - 6.30 pm; Florist (next door).
