Albert James Atkinson (1893-1944), son of John Atkinson and Emma Mary Janes, was born at Butlers Swamp, Claremont.
Married Rose Florence Mathews (1900-1968) in 1929 at Claremont.
Served as private in World War I and World War II.
A fractured skull and shrapnel wounds (24 August 1915) suffered on the Gallipoli Peninsular during World War I led to Albert returning to Australia in 1916 and being medically discharged.
