Robert McClure

Robert McClure (1856-1912), son of Charles McClure and Mary Macdowell was born in Adelaide, South Australia.
Married Mary Fulton Hendry (c.1854-1934), daughter of John Hendry and Charlotte Sharp, at Norwood, South Australia in June 1882.
Robert was an accountant becoming Managing director of Felton, Grimwade and Bickford Ltd.
The McClure family came to Claremont from Adelaide in 1879. The family lived at Matheson's Terrace, situated at 16 Victoria Avenue, Claremont from 1897-1902.
In 1903 they purchased 'The Bungalow', a stone two storey house on the corner of Jetty Road and Victoria Avenue, Claremont with terraced lawns to the water's edge of Freshwater Bay. The family lived at this residence until c.1933.
Robert and Mary had one child:
Charlotte 'Chattie' McClure (1888-1989).
