Campbell Alexander Hendry studied accountancy and became a chartered accountant. He took an interest in education and public affairs. A stained glass window commemorates him at Scotch College in the college chapel, and a Junior School Building was named Hendry House. He was also recognised by PLC. He endowed valuable books to the university, schools and private libraries.
